This morning, it was revealed that the CEO of Honor (Zhao Ming), in his speech (at MWC 2023 event), has announced that the company is all set to launch the successor model of their foldable lineup. The new model is named Honor Magic V2 and will be released on July 12.

The officials claimed this model would “bring a revolutionary folding screen experience.” It is worth mentioning that the Honor Magic V2 will have a horizontally foldable screen, just like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold lineup.

Before discussing the specifications, it is worth noting that the Honor Magic V2 has already passed many certifications, including the MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) and 3C Certification, which states that the model is almost ready and is in the final testing phase.

As reported, the Honor Magic V2 is expected to feature a 2K resolution LTPO substrate large display both inside and outside. In addition, it would be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship chipset, which might be Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 or Snapdragon 8 Gen2. The performance difference between both chipsets is high as the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 is based on a better manufacturing process and features stronger cores.

Inside the Honor Magic V2, a large 5000mAh battery is expected to be used. In addition, the device will support 66W fast charging (as per 3C Certification), which Huawei has been using since 2020. It is also reported that Magic V2 would be water resistant and thinner than Huawei’s Mate X3.

In the coming days, Honor will probably reveal the significant highlights of its Honor Magic V2.
