In February 2022, OPPO launched its first tablet device, the OPPO Pad. However, nearly a year later, the company seems to be planning the successor to its tablet series, with leaks and rumors about the new tablet gradually surfacing.

This morning, a new OPPO device with the model number OPD2201 appeared on the 3C certification website. Judging from the model number, this should be a new device in the OPPO Pad series, as it is very similar to the OPPO Pad (OPD2101).

In addition, sources have confirmed that this device is the OPPO Pad 2. According to certification, the tablet will use a 67W SuperVOOC 2.0 charger. This charger supports the following charging modes: 10W (5V/2A) and 30.5W-67.2W (5-11V/6.1A).

Compared with its predecessor, the tablet will support 67W fast charging, while the previous model only supported 33W charging. The device was also recently listed on the Bluetooth SIG certification website, confirming that it will support Bluetooth 5.3.

As previously reported, the OPPO Pad 2 will continue with an 11-inch IPS LCD display, but the resolution will be upgraded to 2800 x 2000 pixels, with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. Support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 certification will also be key features of the OPPO Pad 2.

This time, OPPO did not use a Qualcomm chipset. Instead, the tablet features the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. This high-end chipset performs exceptionally well in multitasking.

This chipset is manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process and features the following cores: one Cortex-X2 super core clocked at 3.05 GHz, three Cortex-A710 performance cores clocked at 2.85 GHz, and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. It is expected to come with a larger 9500mAh battery and support 67W fast charging.

The OPPO Pad 2 is expected to be launched alongside the OPPO Find X6 series next month (March 2023).
