As the first phone launched after Honor became independent, the Honor V40 has recently received a lot of attention, particularly focusing on its chipset and release date.
This morning, Honor announced on Weibo that the Honor V40 will be launched on January 18. At the same time, starting from January 8, users can pre-order the device at Honor offline stores, Honor online store, JD.com, and Tmall.

It is reported that the Honor V40 uses a 6.72-inch screen with an 80-degree curve, supports a 120Hz high refresh rate and a 300Hz touch sampling rate, and features 10-bit color depth and HDR10.
Previously, the test page on the Honor Mall showed that the source code of the page contained five new product codenames: ‘York, Nobel D, Bohr D, Locke, Kanon.’ According to sources, York is the internal codename for the Honor V40, while Nobel D, Bohr D, Locke, and Kanon are likely new products to be released at the same time.
Before the new product launch event, Honor Mall will officially go live on January 12, and shopping and services related to the Honor brand will also be transferred to the new mall.
Today, the protective case for the Honor V40 has circulated on Weibo. The case shows that the back of the phone features a rectangular camera module, which is expected to house multiple cameras.
It is reported that the phone will be powered by the Dimensity 1000+ chipset and will support 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
