A few days ago, the industry widely expected Vivo to launch its new foldable devices all at the same launch event (including the Vivo X Fold2 and Vivo X Flip). However, the latest industry news indicates that Vivo’s foldable device launch roadmap is quite different from what was expected.
This morning, Vivo launched the Vivo X Fold2 at the 2023 Boao Forum for Asia. The company has become a strategic partner of the Boao Forum for Asia.
In the officially released images, the Vivo X Fold2 is visible. This foldable device shares many similarities with the vivo X90 series. It features a triple camera on the back, with a circular design identical to that of the vivo X90.

The camera module consists of three lenses: the main lens is a Sony IMX866 50MP sensor, and the other two are Sony IMX663 12MP sensors. In addition, the phone shown in the images is red, the same color as the Vivo X90 series.
According to reports, this phone will be 10% lighter than its predecessor and have a reduced thickness as well. It is worth mentioning that the previous two models, Vivo X Fold and Vivo X Fold+, both weighed 311 grams.
According to previous reports, the phone will feature an 8-inch Samsung E6 AMOLED main display with 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The outer screen will also support the same refresh rate, and both screens will have an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor.
Regarding the chipset, the phone will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which has a new core architecture and is manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process. It is worth noting that the Vivo X Fold2 will be the first foldable phone to support 100W fast charging.
The global launch of the Vivo X Fold2 is expected to take place next month (April 2023).
