A few days before, it was expected that Vivo would launch its all-new foldable flagship devices (including the Vivo X Fold2 and Vivo X Flip) all together in one launch event. However, the latest news from the industry revealed that Vivo’s roadmap for launching its foldable device is quite different.

This morning, it is reported that Vivo has officially revealed its all-new Vivo X Fold2 in the 2023 Boao Forum for Asia. The company has collaborated and become the strategic partner of Boao Forum for Asia.

In the officially revealed images, the appearance of Vivo X Fold2 can be observed. It can be seen that this foldable device has much resemblance with Vivo’s X90 flagship series. It features a triple camera on the backside of the same circle shape as in Vivo X90 models.

The camera module consists of three lenses; the primary lens is a Sony IMX866 50MP lens, while the other two are Sony IMX663 12MP sensors. In addition, the model mentioned in the official images has a red color scheme, which is the same as in the Vivo X90 series.

It is also reported that this model would be 10% lighter than its predecessor in terms of weight while the thickness is also reduced. It is worth mentioning that both previous models, Vivo X Fold and Vivo X Fold+, weights 311g.

As per previous reports, the new Vivo X Fold2 will feature an 8 inches Samsung E6 AMOLED Main Display that supports 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The cover display would also support the same refresh rate while both will be equipped with an ultra-sonic in-display fingerprint scanner.

Regarding chipset, the Vivo X Fold2 would be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chipset, which comes with all-new core architecture, is based on a 4nm TSMC manufacturing process, and features the Cortex-X3 Super Core (clocked @3.2GHz). It is also worth mentioning that Vivo X Fold2 would be the first foldable phone to support 100W fast charging and is equipped with this SoC.

Regarding the battery, the Vivo X Fold2 is reported to feature a 4800mAh battery in addition to 120W super fast charging support.

The global launch for Vivo X Fold2 is expected to happen next month (April 2023).
