It’s been more than a year since Samsung hasn’t revealed the successor models of its Galaxy Tab S8 flagship tablet series. However, it seems that the wait has ended as the company has started working on its Galaxy Tab S9, as the latest leaks and rumors are denoting.

This morning, the famous blogger @Ice Universe (on Weibo) revealed the specifications of the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra (the high-end variant of the entire lineup). As said by the blogger, the new Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra would be the same as its predecessor (Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra) regarding body dimensions. It is worth mentioning that Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra has the following dimensions: 326.4*208.6*5.5mm.

The weight of Samsung’s new high-end flagship tablet has been increased by 11g to 737g (Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra Wi-Fi version weighs 726g). Other specifications like display, chipset, battery, and charging speed are the same as in the previous model.

The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra retains the exact 14.6 inches Super AMOLED Display, which supports a 2.5K resolution (1848x2960p) and a 120Hz refresh rate. The battery capacity is still 11200mAh while the charging speed is 45W. The tablet is expected to be equipped with Samsung’s EP-T4510 charger.

Regarding the chipset, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chipset based on TSMC’s 4nm manufacturing process and features the following cores: 1x Cortex-X3 Super Core (clocked @3.36GHz), 2x Cortex-A715 and 2x Cortex-A710 P-Cores and 3x Cortex-A510 E-Cores.

The blogger also mentioned at the end that the high-end variant would have 16GB LPDDR5X RAM. The entire lineup will support IP68 certification, which means the whole Galaxy Tab S9 lineup will be water and dust resistant.

(UPDATE: 6/April/2023 3:00 AM as per UTC Timing) The blogger also revealed that the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra display would support True Black Standard and 120% DCI-P3 Color Gamut. The black level brightness is less than 0.0005nit while the outdoor visibility is also enhanced and the display also supports screen calibration.

The blogger hasn’t said anything regarding the launch time. However, Samsung will probably launch the Galaxy Tab S9 series along with the all-new Galaxy Z series models (Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5) in August 2023 at the Galaxy UNPACKED event.
