It’s been almost a year since Vivo introduced its first-ever foldable device, Vivo X Fold. Later, the company also introduced another foldable smartphone as an improved version (Vivo X Fold+) of the previous one. However, the latest reports indicate that Vivo is now looking forward to releasing its foldable smartphone’s second generation.

This morning, the famous blogger @DigitalChatStation (on Weibo) revealed the specifications of Vivo’s upcoming expected foldable device: Vivo X Fold2.

Vivo X Fold2 Specifications

As per the blogger, both displays (inner and outer) will support 2K+ (2340p) resolution. In addition, it would feature a combo of a 4800mAh battery and 120W fast charging. Compared with the previous generation model (Vivo X Fold), the battery capacity is upgraded by 200mAh, and the charging power is increased by 54W, which seems a good upgrade over the predecessor model.

While talking about the chipset, the blogger mentioned that this foldable device would be the first-ever Snapdragon 8 Gen2-powered device that supports more than 100W charging.

In terms of specifications, the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 is based on TSMC’s latest 4nm manufacturing process and uses an all-new core architecture which includes: 1x Cortex-X2 Super Core (@3.0GHz), 2x Cortex-A715 and 2x Cortex-A710 Performance cores (2.5GHz) and 3x Cortex-A510 Energy-efficient cores (1.8GHz).

Some other sources also reported that the new Vivo X Fold2 would feature a quad camera setup in which the primary lens would be a 50MP Sony IMX866 lens. We can also expect this successor model to have a more slim and lightweight body than its predecessor models (Vivo X Fold and X Fold+).

Currently, the all-new Vivo X Fold2 is expected to be released in April 2023, as reported through sources.
