According to Xiaomi’s Weibo account, the Xiaomi Mi 11 series will be the first smartphones on the market to feature Corning’s seventh-generation Gorilla Glass (codenamed Victus). The company claims this glass is its toughest product to date. Corning stated that Gorilla Glass Victus achieves a significant improvement in drop and scratch resistance, marking the first time a Gorilla Glass family member has reached this level. Smartphones using this glass as a display protection layer demonstrated up to 4 times the scratch resistance in Corning’s lab tests and successfully passed a drop test from 2 meters.
