Xiaomi previously revealed that the stable version of MIUI 12.5 will be released on April 30. However, some users can now experience the new system in advance. On April 22, Xiaomi announced that the stable version of MIUI 12.5 had begun rolling out to users.

There are 7 models in the first batch, including the Xiaomi 11 Ultra, Xiaomi 11 Pro, Xiaomi 11, Xiaomi 10 Extreme Commemorative Edition, Xiaomi 10 Pro, Xiaomi 10, and Xiaomi 9 SE.

For the above devices, the upgrade method is to update directly in Settings > My Device > About Phone, but some devices have received push notifications in recent days.

Xiaomi claims that the changes in MIUI 12.5 are comparable to a major version update. The system’s dynamic effects, sound, and haptic design have been fully upgraded, the system UI has been rebuilt, and memory usage in core scenarios has been reduced by 20%.

In addition, the highlight of MIUI 12.5 is its enhanced privacy protection. Building on MIUI 12, it goes a step further by introducing clipboard privacy protection, integrated fuzzy location, privacy isolation sandbox, browser privacy protection, and privacy protection measures for the app ecosystem.

According to the original plan, the second batch of devices will begin to receive the MIUI 12.5 stable version at the end of May this year. The devices include: Redmi K40 Pro, Xiaomi 10S, Redmi K40, Redmi K30 Pro, Redmi K30 5G, Redmi K30i 5G, Xiaomi 10 Lite 5G, Redmi K30 Extreme Commemorative Edition, Redmi 10X, Redmi 10X Pro, Redmi K30S Extreme Commemorative Edition, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Xiaomi CC9 Pro, Redmi Note 9, Xiaomi CC9, Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Xiaomi 9, Redmi K20 Pro, Xiaomi 9 Pro 5G.
