Smartisan today announced on Weibo that the company will be holding a launch event on October 20 at 19:30 (China Standard Time) in Beijing, China. The tickets for the event will be provided for free of cost. Smartisan has not launched any smartphone for a long time now, and this would be the company’s first launch for this year.

A new Smartisan smartphone got the 3C certification recently, which is possibly the one getting launched. The listing on the Chinese 3C website also reveals that the phone will support up to 55W fast charging, via a USB Type-C adapter. Zhu Haizhou, Product Manager at Smartisan revealed a prototype of the smartphone last month.

The image shows a phone in someone’s hand, with slim and uniform bezels on all 4 sides of the display, somewhat similar to the Meizu 17. The phone appears to have a white-coloured rear panel. Talking about some other specifications of the phone, it will have a 100MP rear camera on the back, paired with some more sensors. The phone will support 5G connectivity too. Name of the smartphone is not known yet, but there are possibilities that it could be either the Smartisan Nut Pro 4, or the Smartisan R2.
