According to Tesla China’s official website, the company has quietly launched a battery recycling service in China.
Unlike in the past, Tesla has not heavily promoted its battery recycling service. However, Tesla has made the service available on the Q&A section of its official website.
In the announcement, the company revealed that its service centers around the world can recycle and handle any batteries that no longer meet customer needs. All discarded lithium-ion batteries will be 100% recycled rather than sent to landfills.
In addition, Tesla also announced that, considering environmental and business factors, extending battery life will take priority over recycling. However, before scrapping and recycling consumer-grade battery packs, the company will make every effort to extend their usage lifespan.
